Whether you’re new to art or returning after a break, this course will help you develop essential skills, build confidence, and learn how to truly see the world around you through an artist’s eye.
Perfect for beginners, hobbyists, or anyone looking to reconnect with their creativity.
Each week introduces core concepts and techniques, guiding students through line work, shape, proportion, tone and basic composition. Emphasis is placed on observational skills, hand-eye coordination, and experimenting with different materials, including pencil, charcoal, pastels and ink.
Students will draw from life, still life, images (bring your own images), and structures, exploring topics such as mark-making, tone, and space.
By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation in drawing principles, a small portfolio of completed studies, and the tools to continue practicing independently.
