A College Certificate
Aimed at improvers, this course will expand on fundamental skills while introducing more advanced concepts to develop a personal drawing style.
Each week will focus on a key area, including line quality, proportion, tone, perspective, and composition. Students will explore a variety of materials such as graphite, charcoal, pastels and ink, working from both observation and imagination. Subjects will include still life, the human figure, natural forms, architecture and simple textures and shapes.
Through practical exercises, tutor demonstrations, and group discussion, learners will gain a deeper understanding of drawing principles and how to apply them effectively. Emphasis will be placed on seeing accurately, loosening up technique, and pushing creative boundaries.
By the end of the course, participants will have a portfolio of completed work, a stronger grasp of core techniques, and increased confidence in their ability to express themselves through drawing.
